This individual is a rock climber who wants a footprint for every country he climbs in, each one containing a symbol to represent that country. Eventually they will trail up his arm. The ones I worked on are the bottom two nearest his wrist. The yellow star is for Vietnam, the Vietnamese flag is red with a gold star. The other footprint contains a tiny blue Thunderbird to represent the U.S.A. It didn't feel right using a symbol affiliated with post-colonization America to represent the soul of the land, the Thunderbird is a symbol and legend shared by many Native American/ First Nation tribes in and around the areas he specified. Each footprint is about 1.25" tall, and the symbols had to fit inside them.
